For many people, celebrities are role models. Beyond their talents, though, some big names are garnering attention for their inspiring health and fitness journeys.

According to a study involving over 400 adults, the majority of respondents admitted role models inspire their health choices. Of these respondents, many said their health inspos were celebrities. With this influence, it’s not surprising that plenty of stars have begun to share what they eat and cook online to lose weight.

Among the most exciting celeb-backed recipes are those from WeightWatchers’ (WW) ambassadors. A globally-renowned platform, WW is at the forefront of weight loss. Using its unique Points system, WW teaches members healthy eating habits that are built on balance instead of deprivation.

In fact, nutritious yet satisfying eating is at the heart of all of WW’s programs. Case in point, they recently began offering GLP-1 for weight loss. As part of their medical weight loss services, these medications are designed to help eligible members lose weight safely and effectively. By helping curb appetites and slow stomach emptying, these medications can result in up to 15% weight loss. Nevertheless, WW still teaches members who are prescribed these medicines to adopt mindful lifestyle changes for sustainable results. This, of course, includes eating dishes that are equally packed with flavor and nutrition.

With this in mind, here are some celebrity and WW-approved recipes that you’ll want to add to your repertoire of weight-loss dishes:

As a chef and mainstay on several cooking shows, like Iron Chef America and The Kitchen, Katie definitely knows a thing or two about food. Since being named a WW ambassador in 2021, Katie’s shared a number of easy but delectable recipes. One of her most impressive ones is a Med-inspired shrimp sheet pan recipe that comes together with barely any fuss. Because it’s full of intelligent calories, it also helps keep you full for longer. Since it’s baked, you can also avoid any unnecessary fats.

To make, slice artichokes, haricot vert, tomatoes, onion, olives, and capers, and toss in a whisked mixture of minced garlic, white wine, and olive oil. Once coated, lay the veggies on a large baking sheet and let bake at 450°F until the tomatoes release their juices. While that cooks, toss your peeled shrimp in the remaining olive oil, crushed red pepper, minced garlic, lemon, black pepper, salt, and oregano. Add this to the baking sheet after 12 minutes, and cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Mix everything together before serving with a toasted baguette!

Tia Mowry’s Ham and Cheese Pocket Sandwiches

The child star turned TV show host is well-known for her love of cooking. Previously, Tia shared that she considers food and cooking as a way to foster a community. The Sister Sister actress even said that back in the 90s, she had seriously considered pursuing a culinary career over an acting one. Since then, the WW ambassador has released multiple cookbooks and is even set to release new recipes she’s developed in collaboration with the weight loss brand. Her nostalgic take on cooking is evident in her pocket ham and cheese sandwiches, which she says are inspired by frozen microwavable after-school snacks. Because Tia’s uses lighter ingredients, the end result is tasty but less calorie-dense.

The recipe starts by mixing together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt until combined. From here, form a dough by adding yogurt. Scrape down the sides and ensure that there are no pockets of dry ingredients. Knead until a smooth dough ball is formed. Divide this ball into squares that you’ll then flatten. Leaving a border, add mustard, ham, and cheese inside. Carefully fold the edges to meet and seal this with a fork. For shine and crunch, brush a mixture of egg and water over each pocket and sprinkle with cheese. Bake these at 375°F for 20-25 minutes. Let cool and dig in.

Beloved actress and humanitarian Kate Hudson is fit-spiration for many people. A long-time wellness advocate, Kate is known to practice meditation, cardio, and strength training programs regularly. In terms of diet, she prefers a high-protein, low-carb approach that keeps her strong and energized. Apart from being an actress, the movie star also owns an athletic apparel company and has written wellness books. On her social media, she’s shared several WW recipes that are perfect snacks to help stave off cravings.

For Kate’s savory rice cake snack, begin by coarsely mashing an avocado. When it’s at the texture you prefer, add in chopped tomatoes, a minced and seeded jalapeno, a squeeze of lime juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix together, and once well-combined, pile on top of rice cakes.
